French Travel Basics
Say “Bonjour!”
Basic manners are very important in France. If you learn one thing, make sure you day “Bonjour” any time you begin any interaction in France.
Whenever you enter any restaurant, store, or begin any interaction, start with saying “bonjour.” French people are polite and there is an expectation of politeness.
Dining out in France
This is another big difference between the US and France. Meals are not enjoyed while walking, and dining is less rushed. Service may seem a bit slower but this is normal for France. Restaurants also open later for dinner, and it is not unusual to eat at 8-9 pm.
Transportation Tips
If you’re staying in a city like Paris, you won’t need a car. It’s one of the most walkable cities in the world, and the metro is well connected. Google Maps will be your bff getting around the metro.
If you need a catch a taxi, we highly recommend G7 taxi.
