About the Wayfaring Four
Nice to meet you! I’m Valerie, a Registered Nurse, Wife and Mom of two young kids. “Wayfaring Four” is myself, and my little family. We love to travel together within Northern California, within the US, and Internationally. Growing up in Sonoma County, I have always loved helping friends with itineraries in the North Bay and beyond. Over the years, we have learned so much about travel with kids and created this page to share our best tips. Follow along for more!

How to Travel with Points
As a family of four, learning how to travel with points has been the biggest game changer for us! We swapped out our debit cards for credit cards a few years ago and haven’t looked back. With out points, we are able to save thousands on each trip. Each year, we are able to book at least one international trip a year for the four of us for only the cost of taxes and fees.
These are two of our favorites:
Amex Platinum
The annual fee does seem a little crazy at first, but this is now one of our favorite cards! It comes with a ton of luxury perks and if you travel a couple of times a year, it’s worth it. We easily get 2-3 times the value of the fee annually.
Chase Sapphire Preferred
Chase is arguably one of the best cards for travelers for many reasons. Chase has some of the best transfer partners including Hyatt, KLM/AirFrance and more!
