10 Best Places To Stay In Paris With Kids
There are endless options in for places to stay with kids in Paris! When choosing where to stay, I consider the following factors:
- Proximity to activities or landmarks we want to see.
- Number of people traveling and ages.
- Amenities that we need like a washer/dryer or kitchenette for meals.
From there, I look at each accommodation and see if they provide any baby gear like a pack and play for a baby/toddler or any other things that would make our lives a little simpler!
Fortunately, Paris is extremely walkable, easy to navigate and is very family friendly. There are a ton of parks, and even the museums usually have kid friendly areas or programming. For a full list of things to do, check out this post.
I’ve organized accommodations by arrondissement (neighborhood) with a little bit about why we love each one.

Where not to Stay
While it may be tempting to book something outside of the city to save a little money, I don’t recommend doing this. Spending too much time traveling into town can waste time and take away from experiencing the little things Parisian neighborhoods have to offer. We did this on our first trip to Paris and regretted it, as we wasted a good 20-30 min walking each way before got to any of the things we wanted to see. Our kids were only 5 and 2 at the time, so making the most of the day was a priority. We stayed in Le Marais on the trip after that, and had a much better experience!
Do yourself a favor and plant yourself in a neighborhood that makes sense for your trip.
Getting Around Paris
Like any big city, there is a TON to learn about ways to get around safely. Getting around in Paris includes walking, using the metro, the occasional taxi, and the Batobus if you’re doing sightseeing.
We have taken every mode of transportation with kids in this city, including a stroller! There are a lot of steps to get down to the metros and the batobus, so my advice here would be to bring a stroller that’s easy to get up and down stairs, when needed.
Walking
Paris is the most walkable city we have been to! There is so much to see and do around every corner. If you’re traveling with kids that still need a stroller, be sure if can maneuver over cobblestone. We also usually bring a baby carrier for places that have a lot of steps.
Taking the Metro
The Paris metro is well connected, and has a variety of options for routes within the city as well as to Disney and Versailles on the RER (A line).
Before you go, make sure you have the Google Maps app or the Bonjour RATP app. Both apps allow you to enter your destination and they will tell you every detail about the route, station, and more!
Do make sure you validate your ticket when you pass through the door for every person to avoid getting fined.
In 2025, the metro stopped issuing paper tickets, so now you can buy tickets to keep on your phone or get a “Navigo” card at the window at the metro station.
Taxi and Rideshare Services
- Airport taxi: Avoid getting a taxi from anyone that approaches you in the airport offering a ride. To avoid scams, only get a taxi from the official taxi area at the airport. Parisian taxis are highly regulated and must only charge a fixed rate to take you into the city. They are also required to accept credit cards. If they try to tell you otherwise, do not ride with them.
- Uber: does exist in Paris, but can’t take taxi lanes. This may cause delays during peak traffic times!
- G7 taxi: This is what we use and recommend! They have an app (same name) that is just as easy to use as Uber. It’s the official taxi of Paris and all payment is done in the app to avoid issues. G7 even has a feature that allows you to request car seats or boosters, which makes it much easier to get around.
G7 taxi Tip
If you plan on using the taxi for anything time sensitive (like a flight) I recommend pre-booking your time on the app. We did this for an airport transfer and it was perfect!
